Irene was born November 19, 1925 in Springfield, Missouri to Ira and Mable Smith. She was united in marriage to Larry McKinnis September 9, 1989 in Springfield. She worked for many years as a private duty nurse. She was a member of AmVets Post 178, whom she considered her family and V.F.W. 3404. Irene loved to go dancing at the post on Saturday nights, she and Larry spent many hours lake fishing on Pomme de Terre Lake.
Survivors include her loving husband of twenty-seven years, Larry McKinnis; one granddaughter; and a host of family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ira and Mable Smith; one son, Daniel Davison; and one brother, Charlie Smith
The family will receive friends Thursday, February 2, 2017 from 2 to 3 pm at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, February 2nd, 2017 at 3:00 pm in the funeral home, with burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to AmVets Post 178 (Auxillary) 3375 West Farm Road 34, Brighton, Missouri 65617.
