Mr. Nelson passed away Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Bettendorf Health Care Center following a two year battle with cancer.
Jeffery Alan Nelson was born July 3, 1970 in Ottumwa, IA, a son of Richard L. and Karen K. (Kephart) Nelson. He was a graduate of Davenport Central High School, Class of 1988.
In earlier years Jeff and worked alongside his father at the former Pester Derby/ Coastal Mart Station on Brady St. in Davenport. Most recently he worked at the Iowa Machine Shed and Fat Boy’s Pizza.
In his spare time Jeff enjoyed fishing and camping the local waterways and parks and was an excellent cook as well. He was a loving son and loyal friend and was always there for them whether it be lending a helping hand, sympathetic ear or give advice on fishing.
He was an avid and long suffering Cubs fan, but got his wish to see them finally win a World Series.
Those left to honor his memory include his mother Karen; brother Gregory (Barb Jones) Nelson, all of Davenport; aunts Donna Cline, Carla (Mike) McCandless, and Beverly Kephart, all of Washington, IA; uncle Gerald (Judy) Kephart; Knoxville, IA; and many dear friends.
His father, grandparents, and aunts Sebilla and Erma, preceded him in death.
