Johnny graduated from Goldsboro High School in 1976 and attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He was employed by United States Postal Service in Raleigh, NC. He was an avid UNC Tarheel fan.
He is survived by his mother, Emma Brogden; brothers Brian (Beverly) Brogden of Wilmington, NC and David (Lori) Brogden of Pine Level, NC; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and at other times at the home of his mother.
A service to remember the life of Johnny will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with the Rev. Barry Williamson officiating. Internment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff of Duke Medical Center ICU for the excellent care of Johnny.
