Anna Lucile Austin passed away on January 28, 2017 at the age of 97. Lucile was born in Hardin County, Tennessee, November 2, 1919, the daughter of William and Otha (Counce) Johnson.

She was very active at the First United Methodist Church. Lucile was Chairman of the Priscilla’s Circle, a Sunday school teacher, belonged to the United Methodist Women and was on the PTA. She was active in many senior groups and part of the “good ol’ girls” at Westwood United Methodist Church in Kalamazoo. She enjoyed sewing and flower gardening.

Lucile is survived by her daughter, Martha Jane Karlzen of Charlotte; son, David Austin of TX; grandchildren, Stephen (Kimberly) Karlzen, Kathryn (Ron) Lovejoy, Kathleen Austin, Rebecca Jane (Matthew) Bridges, Karen (Corey) Austin-Ack; She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earby Austin; brothers, Daniel, Leithe, Charles, Sam, Paul, Jamie Johnson; sister, Mildred Adams.

Services will be held later. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Eaton Rapids Building Fund.
