Mary Dempsey Crawford

Mrs. Mary Dempsey Crawford, 87, of the Ivan Community, Bossier Parish, passed away Sunday, August 9, 1998 at the Willis Knighton Medical Center in Shreveport following a short illness.

Funeral services were held Monday, August 10, 1998 at 4:00 p.m. at the Bailey Mortuary. Chapel in Cotton Valley with Dr. O.P. Bazer officiating. Burial was in Cotton Valley Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Mortuary, Cotton Valley, LA.

Mrs. Crawford, a native and lifelong resident of the Ivan Community, had made her [home] in Shreveport for the last four years. She was a member of the Pilgrims Home Baptist Church and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. William Albert "Bill" Dempsey, on August 25, 1962.

She is survived by three daughters, Billie Jean Carroll and her husband, Henry Stanley Carroll; Martha Ann Rimmer, all of Shreveport, LA; Mary Frances Hinkie, of Dickinson, TX; one sister, Ruby Lee Honeycutt, of Bossier City, LA; one brother, Melvin Coile, of Gladewater, TX; grandchildren, Jill Carroll, Jennifer McCuen Drury, Jerriann Edwards Sheck, Linde Honeycutt and Dennis McCuen, Eric McCuen, Tony McCuen and Katie McCuen and Hanna Sheck.

Serving as pallbearers were J.B. Booker, Dalton Johnston, Mack Young, G.M. Coker, Jr., W.O. Lacy and J.C. Johnson.
