1944 and was active in organizing class reunions. He served in the U.S. Navy during W.W. II. After returning from the service he worked for Aeronca, then was the co-owner with his brother, Curtis L. Thomas, of the Thomas Car Care Center for 30 years. Vic was a member of the Community of Christ Church since 1936. He was a life member of the Middletown Sportsman Club, the N.R.A. and the American Legion Post 218. He was a member of the Madison Lions Club since 1984 and served as Past President from 1987-1988, a member of the Lions Club District 13 Cabinet and served as Secretary from 1991-1992, and received the Melvin Jones Fellow Award in 1992. He was also active in Junior Achievement and the Civil Air Patrol. Preceding him in death were his parents, Oscar R. and Cora E. (Oliver) Thomas; one son, Stephen L. Thomas in 1994; one brother, Curtis L. Thomas and wife Eleanor; and three sisters, Marilyn Briggs, Judy Pearce and Dorothy Irene Blevins. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Justine L. Thomas; one brother, Gerald Thomas and wife Barbara; two sisters, Lois Kathleen Lambert and Wanda Stubbart and husband Kenneth; many nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of good friends. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 31, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Community of Christ Church, 2424 South Sutphin Street, (corner of Grand Avenue) Middletown, Ohio 45044, followed by services at 11:00 a.m. with Elder Bill Helsinger and Elder Floyd Rockwell officiating. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery, Middletown, Ohio with Military services by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be made to the Community of Christ Church, the Madison Lions Club Scholarship Fund, or Hospice of Butler and Warren Counties.
