Floyd Oliver Burns, age 76, of Knoxville, passed away Thursday, January 26, at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center. He was of the Baptist faith and attended Riverdale Baptist Church. He was loved by all who knew him and was known for his happy demeanor and kindness to all.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Velma Burns. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sarah Oakley Burns; son, Rodney (Ruth) Burns; daughters, Karen (Jeff) Williams, Kelly (Jim) Woods, Penny (Mike) Huff, Angie Nicely, grandchildren, Amber (Matt) Lougheed, Tyler (Kristi) Burns, Paige Huff, Quinton (Ciara) Chittum, Mekenzie (Nick) Gibson, Sarah Ashton Chittum, Madysen Williams and Macey Williams; great-grandchildren, Stella Faith Gibson, Axel Grace Gibson and Lougheed twins due in June. He is also survived by his brothers, Kenneth (Barbara) Burns, Wayne (Margaret) Burns, Bill (Evelyn) Burns; and his nieces, nephews and cousins. The family greatly appreciates the compassionate care given by the staff of Ft. Sanders Cardiovascular ICU.

The funeral service will be held Monday, January 30 at 8:00 P.M. at McCarty Evergreen Chapel with Rev. Mike Vincent officiating. The visitation will be prior to the service from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 A.M., Tuesday at Pollard Cemetery in Kodak for 11:00 A.M. interment.
