Ronald J. "Jimmy", Caldwell, age 78 of Neopit passed away on Wednesday, July 20 2016 at Belin Hospital in Green Bay following a lengthy illness.
Jimmy was born on November 10, 1937 in Keshena, Wisconsin a son of the late Joseph John and Myrtle (Boivin) Caldwell. He attended school in Shawano. He later entered the United States Navy and served for three years. Upon returning from service he learned to be a welder. He was then employed at the Caterpillar Company and Harnischfenger Corp. as a welder.He was united in marriage to Verna Elizabeth Caldwell in Shawano. The couple lived in Milwaukee for many years. Following his wife's death on June 12, 2001, Jimmy retired and later moved to Neopit. He was very mechanical and enjoyed being in the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Jimmy is survived by his children, Sylvia (Dennis) Cannon of Franklin, Ronald James (Darlene) Caldwell, Jr. of Seattle, Washington, Deanda (Delane) Stiff of Milwaukee, and Lynn Caldwell of Milwaukee; ten grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; his brother, Joseph (Helene) Caldwell of Keshena; his sisters, Rhonda (Eugene) Boivin of Milwaukee, Jeanine Waupoose of Neopit, and Mary Ann Helsinger of Keshena. Jimmy was preceded in death by his brother, Roland, and his sister, Josephine, Janet Janice, and Rosie.
A graveside service for Ronald James Caldwell will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 10:00 AM at St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery in Neopit. Graveside military honors will be conducted by at Veterans of the Menominee Nation. Relatives and friends may call at the Menominee Community Center in Neopit after 4:00 PM on Friday, July 29, 2016 until the time of service.
