Shirley was a wonderful wife, an excellent cook, and a good Christian woman. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Searcy. Shirley loved to sing and play the piano at church. She was always sweet and kind. Shirley never had a harsh word to say about anybody. She was a very kind hearted individual who will be dearly missed.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 54 years, Billy Benton of Searcy; two sisters, Mary Herekamp and Frances Moody (Jerry) all of Searcy; and one son, Lawon Benton of Minnesota.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by on brother-in-law, Ray Herekamp.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Sunday, January 29th at Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 30th in the funeral home chapel with burial following at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
