Denise Benson, 61, died Friday, January 13, 2017 at her home at Lifescape.

Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at Benton Lutheran Church, rural Crooks. Burial will be in the Benton Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be from 5-7:00 PM Monday at the Minnehaha Funeral Home, Baltic.

Denise was born April 2, 1955 in Sioux Falls to parents Rudolph "Rudy" and Lois (Miller) Benson. She grew up on the family farm and attended Hope School in Sioux Falls. She also attended Hollister and Sioux Vocational. She lived on her own in Sioux Falls for many years.

She participated in the Special Olympics, loved to bowl, and was a fan of the Minnesota Vikings and Elvis Presley. She also loved to watch Bonanza and The Color Purple.

Grateful for having shared her life are her brothers and their wives, Dale and Pat Benson, Derry and Jan Benson, her brother in law, Andy Mann, all of Crooks, nieces and nephews, Zach (Laura) Benson, Melissa (Tyler) Klein, Ashton Benson, Lexi Fontana-Mann, and Spencer Mann; great nieces and nephews, Blakeley and Cooper Klein, Charlie and Dace Benson, and Rylee Grave.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lois in 2000, Rudy in 2015 and her sister Dianne Mann in 2014.
