Charles Madison Gililland was born November 13, 1862, the son of A. J. and Cammalia Gililland and died January 12 [sic-11th according to Missouri death certificate], 1914 He was born and spent his entire life near the place of his death.

He married Harriet Giles on October 26, 1898, and she died on June 29, 1902, leaving one son, Robert M.

Charles then married Martha Blair, in Lincoln County on March 4, 1903, and she died August 14, 1903.

During the latter part of his life, Charles cared for his widow mother, who died May 29, 1913.

In 1883 Charles was made a Mason uniting with the Masonic Lodge at Olney.

After his death, he was buried next to his first wife, near Hawk Point.

His full obituary appeared in the Troy Free Press, Friday morning, January 23, 1914.
