Candice Tipton Carroll, age 63, a caring, soft spoken and strong soul departed this life in her home surrounded by loved ones on January 25th, 2017. Candy was born on January 19th, 1954 in Colorado Springs, CO to Alvin and Erma Jean Tipton. She attended primary school in Colorado Springs and Iola, Kansas and graduated from high school in Hays, Kansas.

In Hays, she met the love of her live, David Carroll. Dave and Candy married on February 22, 1975. Candy retired from the El Paso County Treasurers Office, however she was most proud of the work that she did as a classroom volunteer at Odyssey Elementary School. Candy would share that her most precious memories were made as a grandmother.

Candice was preceded in death by her father, Alvin, her grandparents Wayne and Lily Orcutt, and George and Maude Tipton.

She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Dave, daughter Ashley Bergland and husband Matt, three grandchildren Mia, Niccole and Sean, her mother Jeanie Tipton and her sister Sandra Tipton Ryherd, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

A reception will be held at Swan-Law (Dignity) Funeral Directors at 501 N. Cascade Ave., Colorado Springs, CO 80903 from 12:30-1:30 pm on February 2nd, 2017, followed by a service beginning at 1:30pm. After the service, internment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made at Wells Fargo Bank to the Candice Carroll Memorial Fund, which will be donated to the Odyssey Elementary School library.
