Rex Joseph Robinson, 75, went to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday morning, January 26, 2017 at his home.

Rex was born February 25, 1941 in Wilkes County, to Ray V. and Mamie Adkins Robinson, and was a member of Believers Baptist Church. He was owner/operator of Walkertown Glass, with over 40 years of service. Rex loved going fishing and dancing to country music. He was a life-long farmer who raised horses and enjoyed coon hunting. Rex was a friend to everyone he came in contact with.

In addition to his parents, Rex was preceded in death by three brothers: Parks, Richard, and Walter Robinson, and two sisters: Excel Robinson and Marie VanHoy.

Rex was a father to two daughters, Donna R. Gilbert (Steve) and Nancy L. Robinson. He is also survived by two sisters: Bernince Robinson and Carolyn Dillard, one grandson whom he adored, Hunter Joseph Boggs, six brothers: Roger, Gerald, Tommy, Wayne, John, and R.V. Robinson, mother of his children, Sharon B. Robinson, and three special friends: Odell Dudley, Don Hartle, and Gary Boggs.

There will be a 12:00 pm funeral service on Monday, January 30, 2017 at Burroughs Chapel with Rev. Don McGee officiating. A private entombment will follow at Gardens of Memory Mausoleum, Walkertown.

The family will receive friends from 10am-12pm Monday, January 30, 2017 at Burroughs Funeral Home, Walnut Cove and other times at the home.

In lieu of flowers or memorials may be made to Brenner Children’s Hospital, Medical Center Blvd, Winston-Salem, NC 27157.
