Ronald R. Achenbach, 65, passed away Monday, July 13, 2009, at Flower Hospital. He was born May 22, 1944, to Clifford and Macel (Cramer) Achenbach in Akron, MI. Ron married Janice Galloway October 22, 1994, in Toledo. He worked for Ford Motor Co., before retiring in December 2007. He was currently employed by AAA as a courtesy van driver.
Ron Honorably served his country as a member of the Army in Germany during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Northwest Christian Church.
Ron is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Jan; children, Gerd Achenbach, Donald (Amanda) Achenbach, Hollie (Ray) Platt, Shannon (Stephen) Foraker, Erin (Michael) Zaborski; grandchildren, Justin, Sarah, Kevin, Joshua, Emily, Grace, Jacob, Julianna, Stephen, Maria, Casey, Arianna, Kayla, Conor, D.J.; brother, Garland (Joan) Achenbach and sister, Diane (Nick) Fisher.
Services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday with Rev. Bruce Rogers officiating in the Ansberg - West Funeral Home, 3000 Sylvania Avenue where friends are invited to visit from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. today. Interment in Toledo Memorial Park.
