Kenneth Dean Winters, 79, died peacefully in his home in Madrid, Iowa, on January 24, 2017.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11 am, Friday, January 27 at Sundberg-Kirkpatrick Funeral Home, Madrid Iowa. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Madrid. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m., Thursday January 26 at the funeral home.

Kenny was born August 1, 1937 (and raised) in Fort Dodge, Iowa to Glen and Dorothy(Myers) Winters.

After serving his country in the Air Force for 4 years, he met and married the love of his life of 57 years; Donna(Tegland) Winters of Fort Dodge, Iowa. The couple made their home in Madrid, Iowa after accepting a job at John Deere in Ankeny Iowa and retired from there after 33 years of service. Their union was blessed with three children; Tammy, Lori and Mike.

Kenny was a simple family man who enjoyed bowling, fishing, and an occasional 'barley pop' with his many friends and family.

Kenny is survived by his wife, Donna; his daughters: Tammy Long (Alan) and Lori Wade, both of Madrid, his son Mike Winters(Peggy) of Wisconsin, two brothers; Robert Winters(Janet) of Oregon and Glen Winters of Wisconsin; his sister Pat Winters of Fort Dodge; seven grandchildren: Shane Fuson, Kelle Miller(Emily), Sinell Harney(Jerod), Taylor Wade, Zackary, Jacob and Mariah Winters; and four great grandchildren. Plus, loving in-laws, nieces, nephews and a host of long-time friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Mary Laird.

Memorial fund established by the family.

Dress code: Flannel shirts preferred in Kenny's honor.
