Dorothy R. (Powe) Cooper, 84, died on January 23, 2017. She was born in Clarksdale, Mississippi on January 26, 1932 to the late Clinton Powe and Mary L. Johnson. She was their only child. In the late 1940s she moved to Akron, Ohio. She started work at the Ravenna Arsenal, then moved on to a career in the hospital industry at Green Cross Hospital, where she worked in the surgery room as a medication packer for ten years. She then relocated to Akron City hospital as a tray girl for 8 years. She is survived by her husband, four children, six grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
