JOHN SCOLA KILLED BY HIT-AND-RUN CAR.
Funeral services for John Scola, a former resident of Muscoda were held from St. John's Catholic church here on Saturday morning Rev Boos-Waldeck officiating. Burial was made in the Catholic cemetery Mr. Scola aged 43 years was killed by a hit-and-run driver on last Thursday, two miles southeast of Darien when he alighted from his car to inspect the tires. His body was found about 200 feet from where his car was parked and his clothing gave evidence that he had been dragged that distance by the hit-and-run car. He suffered a compound fracture of the skull and death was almost instantaneous. He was removed to his home at Elkhorn and was brought to Muscoda on Friday evening for burial accompanied by his sister Josephine of Milwaukee. John Scola was the son of Wencil and Mary Scola former residents of Muscoda but have been making their home with their son in Elkhorn for a number of years. The deceased was a mechanic by trade. Besides his parents and sister, he is survived by his wife and a daughter five years of age.
