Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, January 30, 2017 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel in Big Spring with Eddy Pitchford, officiating. Interment will follow at Mt Olive Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM Sunday, January 29, 2017 at the funeral home.
Connie was born October 5, 1942 in Pasadena, Texas and married Sammie Buchanan June 1, 1961 in Coahoma, Texas.
She was a graduate of Coahoma High School.
She lived a life full of compassion and empathy for people and animals alike.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who cared deeply for her family.
She enjoyed collecting antiques and studying genealogy.
Her memory will live on through the lives of those she touched, including: her husband, Sammie Don Buchanan of Coahoma; one son, Sammie Don Buchanan, Jr. and wife, Paris of Cedar Creek; one daughter, Vickie Lynn Engel and husband, Todd of Bee Cave; three granddaughters, Rae Buchanan of Ft. Worth, Amy Hawk and husband, Austin of Midland, and Aly Engel of Lubbock; one brother, Billie Ford and wife, Vickie of Burnett, and her beloved pets.
She was preceded in death by an infant sister, JoAnn Ford; and her parents, Billie Bittick and Georgia Pauline (Stewart) Ford.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of Scenic Mountain Medical Center, and University Medical Center of Lubbock for their loving care.
