Paul Hartman, 84, longtime Creswell resident, passed away suddenly of cancer at home, on Dec. 6, 2016, with his loving family at his side.
Mr. Hartman was born in Sparta, Mo., on Feb. 7, 1932 to Clyde and Florence Hartman. He moved to Creswell in 1938.
He attended Creswell schools, graduating in 1950. He continued his education at Southern Oregon College in Ashland, where he earned his teaching degree in 1956. He retired from teaching in 1987.
He married his wife, Crystal, on June 1, 1952 in Creswell. Following his marriage, he entered the U. S. Army, spending time in Nuremberg, Germany.
Mr. Hartman was a very dedicated teacher, coach and avid sports fan. He was a longtime member of the Creswell VFW and Creswell Lions Club, working with sight and hearing for those in need. He also enjoyed camping, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Crystal, of 64 years; a son, Lonnie, and daughter, Connie; four grandsons and five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Hartman was preceded in death by his sister, Zelma; brothers, Homer, Robert, Martin, Clyde, Floyd and Lloyd; and one grandson, Michael.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 4, at the Creswell VFW Hall. Everyone is welcome, young and old. Casual dress or Oregon Duck attire if you desire. Till we meet again!
