Mrs. Camilla Stevens-Cooper, age 70 of Whitesburg, Georgia died Friday, January 27, 2017.
Camilla was born in Newnan, Georgia on May 4, 1946, the daughter of Lewis Stevens and Lourine Richards Stevens.
She was a 1964 graduate of Newnan High School and had attended West Georgia College. Camilla worked as a social worker with Carroll County Department of Family and Children Services for over 20 years. She was very active in her community having served on the Whitesburg City Council; founding board member of Carroll County Alzheimer’s Support Group, served on the board of Salvation Army and was a member of Whitesburg United Methodist Church.
Survivors include cousins, Wyndel and Gail Carnes of Whitesburg, Kati and Chris Farmer their children, Gracie, Wyatt and Cooper of Carrollton, Holly and Josh Garner, Josephine and Jim Hearn of Whitesburg, June and Ronnie Musick of Whitesburg, Kay and Forrest Byrom of Newnan, Ann Devaney of Augusta, long time family friend, Lunelle Addison; special friends, Donna Hudgins, Tina Robinson, Colette Kessinger, Nancy Jones, Amy Williford and Jacey Williford. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Terrell E. Cooper.
Funeral service will be Sunday, January 29 at 3 p.m. at the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Hearn and Rev. Alvin Hunnicutt officiating.
Pallbearers will be Brock Garrett, Ray Thompson, Josh Garner, Chris Farmer, Tim Robison and Tony Hudgins. Honorary pallbearers will be Camilla’s former co-workers at CCDFACS.
Interment will be in Whitesburg Cemetery.
Almon Funeral Home of Carrollton has charge of arrangements.
