Margaret “Marge” I. Thiede, 93 of Woodstock, passed away Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Valley Hi Nursing Home in Woodstock.
She was born on December 11, 1922 in Woodstock to Robert and Caroline (Thrun) Olson. She married Joseph B. Theide on October 2, 1965.
Marge lived in Woodstock her entire life. She worked as a department manager for Montgomery Wards in Woodstock for many years. She served as the treasurer for the Woodstock VFW Post 5040 Woman’s Auxiliary. Her and Joe managed the Woodstock VFW Post 5040 for over 20 years. Marge loved hosting holiday parties for her family and Christmas was always her favorite.
She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn (John) Uhlir Justice; her step children, Randy (Jeannie) Thiede, and Jan (Ken) Winkelman; her grandchildren, Julie (Nancy) Marshall-Justice; Michael (Fabiola) Justice, Kathleen (Torey) Quinn, Jill Justice, Susan Justice, Dave (Jane) Creighton, Scott (Laura) Creighton, Tony (Debbie) Wolff, Renee Thiede, Jeremy (Lauren) Kuhns, Gail (Sean) Anuskewicz, Paul (Melissa) Winkelman, Ken (Katie) Winkelman, Mark Winkelman, and Brook Winkelman; and her great grandchildren, Emilano, Camila, Mateo, Valentina, Emily, Becca, Connor, Alex, Sofia, Brian (Crystal), Alexander, Amanda, Austin, Parker, Spencer, Samantha, Zachery, Ted, Emmett, and Everett.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph B. Thiede on March 11, 2006; and her daughter, Judy Uhlir Creighton on July 20, 2012.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 from 1pm until the time of the funeral service at 2pm at the Schneider Leucht Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home, 1211 N. Seminary Ave. in Woodstock. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery in Woodstock.
