Born May 15, 1928 in Alexander County, North Carolina, she was the daughter to the late Irvin and Mary Lambert Johnson. Mrs. Nellie was a very loving and caring mother and "Maw Maw". She always put others first and loved her church and church family. She loved being outside, working in her garden and with her flowers. She always enjoyed beach vacations.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard Paul Moore and six siblings.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory daughters, Denese (Jack) Borders and Tammy (Bradley) McLain; grandchildren, Lewis (Robbie) Beckham, Joey (Carrie) Beckham, Tina (Marcelo) Rodriguez, Tyler McLain and Josh McLain; great-grandchildren, Tori & Brandon Rodriguez, Aaron Beckham, Justin and Dylan Beckham and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Mrs. Nellie's life will be held on Wed. January 25, 2017 at 2pm at Oakland Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Mrs. Nellies name to: Oakland Presbyterian Church 531 North Oakland Ave. Statesville, NC 28677.
