Donald M. House, 81, of Wilton, died Thursday, July 30, 1998, at Muscatine General Hospital.

Visitation will be 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, July 30, at Bentley Funeral Home in Wilton. Memorials may be made to Durant Ambulance.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 1, at Bentley Funeral Home in Wilton. Burial will be in Durant Cemetery, Durant, Iowa.

Donald Messenger House was born November 21, 1916, in Riceville, the son of Nathan and Jennie (Livezey) House. He married Velma Mae Monson on November 21, 1939 in Muscatine. He was a cattle feeder and farmed many years in Muscatine County, until his retirement.

He is survived by his wife, Velma; three daughters, Sandi Ripson of Bettendorf, Shirli Andersen of Wilton, and Connie (Harland) Garvin of Iowa City; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
