Roberta Wilson Roberta Rae Wilson, 92, of Tacoma, Wash., died Tuesday, December 6, 2016, in her Morro Bay home of natural causes. Roberta moved to Morro Bay in 1980 with her husband, Guy B. Wilson, to be operators and part owners of Tratel Morro Bay. As a young married couple, they had honeymooned in Morro Bay in 1942 and were thrilled at the opportunity to return. Roberta was a kind, loving and generous soul who enjoyed being with, and helping others. She was a strong advocate for animal causes and adopted many dogs and cats over the years. Roberta is survived by her son Lance Wilson and his wife, Denise Wilson; and her daughter Shannon Root and her husband, Dennis Root; four grandchildren, Adam and wife Becky, Michael, Christine, Jeff and wife Chris; as well as seven great-grandchildren. Roberta was preceded in death by her husband, Guy B. Wilson; her father, Ralph Myers; mother, Hazel Myers; and her sister, Maxine Deeter. Viewing will be from 9:00am to 11:00am on Monday, December 12, 2016, at Benedict-Retty Mortuary and Crematory, 1401 Quintana Rd., Morro Bay, Calif. Service will begin at 11:00am immediately following the end of viewing time at Benedict-Retty Mortuary and Crematory. There will be a short reception following the service.
