Mr. Larry Gantt Childress Jr., 59, passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. He was born in Wayne County on July 10, 1957 to Larry Gantt and Myrtle Gurley Childress, Sr. Larry was a graduate of Parkland High School Class of 1977 and worked as a painting contractor. He was preceded in death by his father Larry Childress, Sr. Surviving to honor his memory is a daughter, Danielle Elizabeth Childress of Lexington; mother, Myrtle Mae Childress of Winston-Salem; brother, Steve O. Childress of Midway; two grandchildren, Hailey and Trevor; and half sister, Swanve Hunt. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at Woodland Cemetery, 3123 Indiana Ave, Winston-Salem. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the funeral home, 10301 N. NC Hwy 109, Winston-Salem.
