Wanda M. Gordon, age 90, of Gravois Mills, passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2017, at the Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Facility in Jefferson City. She was born February 3, 1926, in Orrick, Missouri, the daughter of the late John and Doris (South) Sandstrom.
On July 2, 1952, in Kansas City, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Bobby R. Gordon, who preceded her in death on July 6, 2010.
Wanda was employed at Allied Bendix in Kansas City as a machinist for many years, retiring in 1986. Following her and Bobby’s retirement, they moved to the Lake of the Ozarks.
In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, working in her flower garden, boating and reading.
Wanda was baptized and expressed her religion through the Methodist faith.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen Resch and husband Don of Jefferson City, Missouri; grandchildren, Robin Perkins and husband David and Shelly Starbuck and husband Lance; great-grandchildren, Shaun Starbuck and wife Lindsey and Brian Perkins and many other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Kevin Resch.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, January 28th, at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Laurie with Pastor Lynn Facemyer officiating. Graveside services and interment will follow in Garber Memorial Estates. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., Saturday, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Gravois Mills United Methodist Church.
