Patricia, age 92, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 in Valparaiso, IN. Born on October 5, 1924 in Gary, IN to the late Patrick J. and Kathleen L. (nee Walsh) Stanton. Patricia along with her husband, Julian W. Dykes, co-founded the Dykes Funeral Home, Inc. in Valparaiso in 1951. Married October 28, 1950 at Holy Angels Cathedral, Gary, IN; Formerly of Gary, she was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and its Oasis Club and Altar Rosary Society, also a member of Valparaiso Chamber of Commerce, graduate of Holy Angels Grade School, and 1942 graduate of Horace Mann High School in Gary, IN. Patricia is survived by children: Kathleen M. (C. David) Odum of Valparaiso, IN, James J. Dykes of Largo, FL, Mary Pat (Robert) Buhle, Edward J. (Cyndi) Dykes, Patrick J. Dykes, all of Valparaiso, IN; 12 grandchildren: Bridget (Dean) Figgener, Matt (Jessica) Odum, Megan Odum, Ryan (Trisha) Dykes, Samantha (Nick) Tithof, Elizabeth (Damian) Buchman, Jonathan Buhle, Bradley Buhle, Mackenzie (Michael) Wendahl, Joel Dykes, Caroline Dykes, Erica (Matt) Wirth; nine great grandchildren: Jake Joiner, Stella and Louis Dykes, Max and Grayson Tithof, Jack, Harry, and Lennon Buchman, Carly Wirth; sister-in-law, Carolyn Stanton. Preceded in death by husband, Julian W. Dykes in 1992; siblings: Kathleen Smith, Winifred O'Donnell, Madeline Stanton, William Stanton, James Stanton, numerous nieces and nephews.
