Tammy Higgins, age 55, died at her home under hospice care on May 23, 2015.Tamara Terese Weisser was born on July 31, 1959 at Eureka, SD to Charles and Diann (Scheuffele) Weisser. She married Timothy Higgins at Aberdeen, SD on May 30, 1981.She is survived by her husband - Tim of Madison, one son- Casey (Brooke) of Leola, SD Three daughters - Sarah (Josh) Buesgens of Shakopee, MN, Lindsey (Brent) Dietterle of Madison and Kaitlyn (Chad) White of Madison. two grandchildren - Teegan and Lilah. Her mother - Diann Weisser of Eureka, SD. Two Brothers - Charles (Val) Weisser of Frederick, SD and George (LuAnn) Weisser of Leola, SD Five sisters - Marilyn (Terry) Sieler of Eureka, Melody Taylor of Aberdeen, SD, Debra (Jim) Smith of Brentford, SD, Cindy (Terry) Taylor of Dickinson, ND and Peggy (Ed) Caress of Anchorage, AK.She was preceded in death by her father.Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at St Thomas Aquinas Church with Rev Dewayne Kayser officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.She grew up in Leola graduating from Leola High School in 1977. She received an Associate of Arts degree in Medical Records from Dakota State University. She worked at May and Scofield Manufacturing and the Admissions office at Dakota State University, She ran a home day-care and worked as a home health care nurses aide for the Madison Hospice program. She was a member of the Garden Club, St Thomas Altar Society , Catholic Daughters and Relay for Life. The family requests memorials to Relay for Life or the Madison Home Hospice.There will be a parish scripture service and rosary at 7:00 PM on Tuesday at Weiland Funeral Chapel which is in charge of the arrangements.
