James Edward Baxley, 69, passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2017, at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton. He was born on December 10, 1947 in Robeson County to the late James Alton & Gladys Turner Baxley.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Phyllis Gaines; and one daughter, Melissa Gail Baxley.
He is survived by his children: Jimmy Baxley and wife Gina of Maxton and Tracy Lynn Smith of Pittsburgh, PA; one sister Kathy Lamb and husband Jamie of Lumberton; and five grandchildren: Amber Smith, Jimmy Deion Baxley, Miranda Melissa Baxley, Phyllis Oxendine, and Kalem Peterson.
A time of visitation will take place prior to the service on Saturday, January 28, 2017, from 2:00-3:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc.
Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM at Floyd Memorial Chapel with Rev. Kenny Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Faith Cemetery in Lumberton.
