Arthur Leland Gnadt was born November 14, 1916 to Albert and Mabel (Moen) Gnadt on a farm in Chanarambie Township, Murray County, MN. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and attended country school. As a young man he worked with his father on the family farm and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

On September 16, 1939 Arthur married Marie Severeid in Lake Wilson, MN at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and made their home on the family farm one and a half miles west of Lake Wilson. He was a farmer his whole life, but also a jack-of-all-trades. He worked as a block and brick layer, did cement finishing, tree trimming and was currently a licensed trapper for Murray County.

A life-long member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Lake Wilson, Arthur was the last current member that chartered the church. He was also a past member of the Broken Arrow Archery Club and enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, and archery his whole life. He was a past State Champion Archer in the 1950's.

Arthur was able to live on the farm his whole life until his health failed. On Wednesday, October 24, 2012 he died at the Murray County Medical Center in Slayton, MN at the age of 95.

Arthur is survived by his two sons, Dennis (Mavis) Gnadt of Torrance, CA and Arlen (Marcia) Gnadt of Garretson, SD; one daughter, Angelle (Jon) Berreau of Adrian, MN; seven grandchildren, Daniel, David, Markell, and Aaron Gnadt, Marissa Wollmann, Zachary and Isaac Berreau; one brother, Myron "Mike" (Rena) Gnadt of Vista, CA; nieces, nephews, friends, and his dog, "Buddy".

His wife, Marie, his son, Dale, his parents, and one sister, Mardelle (Gene) Arrant and her first husband, brother-in-law, Clarence Eisfeld preceded him in death.
