Hill, Georgia Catherine Martin, age 84, a resident of Millbrook, AL passed away unexpectedly Monday, June 8, 2015 while returning from vacation in Texas. Her sense of style and grace will be missed by many. She is survived by her children, Michael Hill (Veronica), Michelle Karr (Claude), John Hill (Patsy), Larry Hill, and Peter Hill (Jan). Her surviving sisters include Mary Crocker (Charlie), Rosalee Wade (Jim) and brother Jimmy Martin. She graced the lives of 9 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Her presence will be missed by her devoted friends from church and quilting club. She was preceded in death by her husband George Martin Hill, her parents Charles and Teresa Martin. Her deceased brothers and sisters include Martina, Toney, Margaret, Caroline, John, Willie, Katrina, Nico, Sandra, Acie and George. Her long life friend Louise Gregory. Georgia was born in Oklahoma and graduated from Checotah High School. She met her husband George Martin Hill while she was in nursing school he was in the United States Air Force. Their marriage took them to many corners of the world including New York, California, Missouri, Florida, Germany and Alabama. Upon George's retirement from the Air Force they had established residence in Millbrook, AL that would be her adopted home. She was a long time surgical nurse for Dr. John Ashurst helping and assisting in numerous deliveries of Montgomery babies. She and her husband were founding members of St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Catholic Church in Millbrook, AL. She was a devoted quilter. She was a spiritual woman and was involved in many church activities. She loved to travel and enjoyed bunko and cards with her devout friends of Our Lady Guadalupe Catholic Church. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Albert Kelly officiating. The interment will follow at Brookside Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Our Lady Guadalupe Church, Elmore, AL. in her memory. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 12, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
