Jerry Bowden, age 82, died at his home in Madison under hospice care.He was born on May 13, 19333 at Lilly, SD to Gerald and Faye (Dahlgren) Bowden. He married Gretchen Sandven on January 7, 1957 at Pipestone, MN.He is survived by his wife Gretchen of Madison, three sons - David of Egan, SD, Tim (Donna) of Sioux Falls and Tom (Sondra) of Brandon, 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, one brother - Kip (Shirley) of Huron, four sisters - Nell (Bob) Olson of Phoenix, AZ Geraldine Hanson of Madison, Sanna (Ron) Assmuson of Rapid City SD and Sheryl (Al) Froiland of Aberdeen.He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Duane. one brother and one sister.Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Madison with Rev Warren Uecker officiating. Inurnment will take place at Carthage Cemetery, Carthage, SD.He grew up in the Clark, SD area where he graduated from Clark High School.He joined the Air Force in 1957 where he served until 1961. He then joined the Air National Guard where he retired with the rank of Chief Master Sergeant in 1993. They in Hill City, SD until moving to Madison in 2012.There will be a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM on Monday at Weiland Funeral Chapel which is in charge of the arrangements
