P. William Capatch, age 101, of Madera, passed away at Christ the King Manor on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2017.

He was born on April 18, 1915, in Morrisdale, Pa., a son of the late James F. and Anna Marie (Cornetto) Capatch.

Bill graduated from the former Bigler Twp. High School Class of 1932 and served in the United States Army during World War II.

He attended the Penn State University and received a Ph.D. degree in business from the University of Pittsburgh.

Bill retired as a professor of business and accounting from Kent State University in 1985.

He was a lifelong parishioner of the former Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Madera.

Bill was an avid golfer and a longtime member of the former Grand View Golf Club. He also was a lifetime member of the Philipsburg B.P.O.E #1173.

He is survived by a nephew, James Capatch and his wife Sheila of Clearfield as well as numerous other nieces and nephews.

Bill was the last of his generation, having been preceded in death by three brothers, Anthony, George and Victor; and four sisters: Angeline "Bobby" Gimmel, Theresa Romano, Jennie Dean and Rose M. Capatch.

Friends will be received on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017, from 10-11 a.m. in the Chapel of Christ The King Manor.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017, at 11 a.m. from the Chapel at Christ the King Manor, DuBois, with Msgr. H. Desmond McGee and Fr. Marc Solomon con-celebrating.

Full military honors will be accorded by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard from the Chapel at Christ the King Manor.

Interment will be in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Madera.
