Margaret Gamble of Spiro Oklahoma entered into rest on January 24, 2017. She was the 5th of 10 children from the late John T. and Amie (O’Barr) Collins on May 7, 1926.
Margaret retired from 22 years at JcPenney in 1982 and turned her attention and energy toward caring for her family and others. Margaret was a member of the Morning Star Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening and sharing the fruit of her labor with family and friends. She always strived to leave everything a little better than the way she found it. She wanted to accomplish something every day to make the world a better place to live.
She was preceded in death by her husband Othel H. Gamble, Sr., her grandson Greg Gamble, two sisters, Wilma Burt and Madge Maxwell, five brothers, Pershing, John Jr., Malachi, Joe, and Cleo Collins.
Margaret is survived by two sons; Othel Gamble, Jr., and his wife Kay, Mike Gamble and his wife Susan of Tucker, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Cody Gamble and wife Layne, Amy and Tana Kay Gamble; six great grandchildren, Colton, Wyatt, Paris, Alexis, Kayla and Forrest; one sister; Lila Hull and her husband the late Wendall, Jr., of Arkoma, Oklahoma; and one brother, Clay Collins and wife Barbara of Durant, Oklahoma; numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at the Morning Star Baptist Church in Tucker, Oklahoma with Reverends Duke Bennett and Tommy Parker officiating. Interment will follow at the Spiro City Cemetery.
