William Cleofus "W.C." Barger, 91, passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2017, at Parkview Regional Hospital in Mexia. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, January 26, 2017, at Bowers Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Friday, January 27, 2017, at Eighth Avenue Baptist Church in Teague. Bro. Roy Prather will officiate. Interment will follow the services in Greenwood Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Zelma Lee Rogers Barger; and a grandson, Jeff Lucas.
Survivors include his daughters, Pat Cothran and Judy Lucas, both of Teague; son, Glenn Ray Barger, of Donie; grandchildren: Nannette Posey, Sheila LaFoy, Wade Cothran, Jason Barger, and Brittnee Cathey; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sister, Opal Gibson, of Chandler; brother, Orval Barger, of Livingston; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends including special friend, Grace Holmes, of Teague.
