Judy Diane Walker was born October 17, 1958 in Park River, ND the daughter of Duane Walker and Jeanne (Monson) Walker. She graduated from Park River High School in 1977. Following her education she worked at the Park River Good Samaritan Center. Judy was united in marriage to Bob Phelps on July 24, 1982 at Park Center Lutheran Church. The couple made their home in Minto, ND where she operated an in home day care. In 1999 Judy moved to Wadena, MN. She married Leslie Carlson on April 8, 2000. The couple lived on a farm near Wadena and operated Carlson Plumbing. He passed away on March 17, 2015. In September of 2015 she moved to East Grand Forks and has made her home there since.
She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church of Wadena where she served on the church council. Judy loved to mow grass, garden and loved to bake. She was known for her doughnuts and lefse.
Judy is survived by her mother, Jeanne Monson, Grafton, ND; her father, Duane (Ginny) Walker, Hoople, ND; siblings: Jeffrey (Tammy) Walker, Bozeman, MT, Rick (Val) Walker, Hoople, ND; DeeDee Carlson (Bryan Budge), Grand Forks, ND; Nancy (Ed) Miller, Grafton, ND; Leslie's children: Dwight Carlson, Penny (Bruce) McManigle and Robin (Wayne) McClure, her nieces and nephews: Nichole (Sage) Bailey, Andy (Maggie) Walker, Zachariah Carlson, HollyAnn Carlson (Sam Noland), John (Brittany) LeClerc, Ryan Walker, James LeClerc, Maison Carlson, Laila Miller and Augie Miller. She was preceded in death by her husband Les.
