Born Sept. 23, 1941, in Jefferson County, she was the daughter of Woodrow Kirk and Yvonne (Lancaster) Kirk.
Sandy has worked for Dr. Ophas for 20 years. Prior, she was employed for 21 years with Jefferson Medical Center in the lab; and was employed with the former Western Auto.
She was a member of Covenant Baptist Church; and a former member of Leetown Church of the Brethren.
She was a graduate of Charles Town High School, class of 1959.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, James H. “Jim” Dodson, at home; daughters, Deborah “Dee Dee” Kessel and husband, Joseph, of Harpers Ferry and Stacey Pfaltzgraff and husband, Tim, of Walkersville, Maryland; grandchildren, Adrian Kessel, Adam Kessel, Aaron Kessel and wife Hayley, Brooklyn Pfaltzgraff and Phillip Pfaltzgraff; great-grandson, Liam Kessel; sister, Ann Kirk Kelican and husband, Jerry, of Stephens City, Virginia; brother, Dennis W. Kirk and wife, Sherry, of Inwood; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Andrea Yvonne Dodson.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 4, 2016, at Covenant Baptist Church, 7485 Shepherdstown Pike, Shepherdstown with Pastor Joel Rainey and Pastor Dave Moser officiating.
Interment will be private.
No visitation.
