Thomas Artell Williams Thomas Artell Williams, 76, of Pleasant Grove, loving husband and father, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 11, 2005 from causes incident to cancer.
He was born June 24, 1928 in Declo, Idaho to Elmer and Laurine Olsen Williams. He married Mary Ellen Hazard on October 18, 1949 in the Idaho Falls Temple.
Tom grew up in Idaho and moved with his family to Lakeview, OR where he graduated from high school in 1946. He joined the army as a paratrooper and served in Japan. He served an LDS Mission to the Southern States from 1949-51.
Tom graduated from Oregon State University with a degree in Agriculture Education. He later received a M. S. in Education from Oregon State. He taught school and worked in education administration for the State of Oregon. He and Mary Ellen served two full-time missions to South Africa and Louisville-Ohio.
He is survived by his wife; seven children: Randall (Cheri), Marc (Diane), Sara (Ken) Crabtree, Laurie (Jeff) Robinson, Kent (Jan), Marcy (Todd) Boice, Erin (Lance) Black, 32 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and six brothers.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 14, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in the Grove Creek Stake Center, 1176 North 730 East, Pleasant Grove where friends may call from 9:30 to 10:40 a.m. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery under the direction of Olpin Family Mortuary, Pleasant Grove. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.olpinfamilymortuary.com. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to the LDS Church Humanitarian Services.
