CLARRISA B. WHITTLESEY. Clarrisa B. Whittlesey was born in Connecticut, Feb. 11, 1804. At an early age she removed with her parents to Livingston county, New York, in which place she continued to reside until the removal of her son, W. S. Whittlesey, to Michigan in 1871; since which time she has been a member of his family. Of a large family of brothers and sisters, only one, a brother, still residing in Livingston county, New York, survives her. Of the acquaintances and friends of her early years, the large majority have preceded her to the other shore. And for a few years she has been calmly awaiting her summons, feeling that her work was nearly finished. For over 60 years the deceased has been an earnest and consistent member of the visible church on earth, and has always been active in her labors. Many a heart has been made happier and the burdens of many lightened by her counsel and her ministrations. She has now passed to the fullness of her reward and before the Christ, she loved so well, wears the crown of her rejoicing. The funeral services were held Sunday, Rev. A. M. Hyde officiating. The remains were deposited in the receiving vault in Forest Home cemetery.
