Edward Dale Harper, 70, of Hixson died Monday, December 19, 2016.

He was born March 7, 1946 in St Louis, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his father, Harry Harper.

Mr. Harper was a loving father and grandfather. He loved his grandchildren with all his heart. He was a hard worker who loved sailing and target shooting. Mr. Harper was a history buff who loved antiquing. He was a St. Louis Cardinals fan. He was a very friendly man, who never met a stranger. He was a member of Collegedale Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Pat Harper; sons, Steven (Denise) Harper and Mark (Carrie) Harper; grandchildren, John and Lucy Harper; mother, Lucille Harper; sisters, Janet Straw and Shirley Benton.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4-6 Friday at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Arrangements under the direction of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist-North Chapel, Hixson, TN.
