Anna Eliza (A. E.) Powers Ball was the daughter of George and Anna Powers, and the first wife of Lemuel Morris Ball. They were married 18 January 1849, in Claiborne county in Tennessee. They had a daughter, Anne, in 1850, in Tennessee. They moved to Texas, the town of Tarrant, in Hopkins county, and on 1 November 1854, had a son, Lemuel Beecher Ball. Also in Hopkins county, Texas, they had a daughter, Mary "Molly" Elizabeth Ball, on 11 December 1857. At the same place, they also had a son, James McFarland Ball, on 18 November 1861. At some point before her death, the Ball family moved to Benton County, Arkansas, in the area near Gravette.
