Jonnie Nell (Ashley) Wilson passed from this life on January 21, 2017 in Corn, OK at the age of 68. Jonnie was born to John Gordon Ashley and Nellie Bob (Martin) Ashley on June 28, 1948 in Hobart, Oklahoma. Jonnie grew up in Lone Wolf attended grade school and was a high school graduate of Lone Wolf High School. After graduation Jonnie began her nursing career at the Elkview Hospital in Hobart as a nurseβs aide and graduated top of her class in nursing school in Burns Flat as an LPN including every award possible voted by her peers in nursing. Jonnie was extremely intelligent and amazed her classmates and family. After thirty-one years of nursing, Jonnie retired from Elkview Hospital right where she began. Jonnie was an avid animal lover especially horses and dogs, she enjoyed playing bingo, crocheting, reading and fishing but her passion was her son Nathan. She loved to watch Nathan show his pigs. She always wanted a daughter and when Nathan found Stephanie, Jonnie thought she hung the moon. Jonnies passion was her family.
Jonnie is survived by her son Nathan and wife Stephanie of Norman and her two grandchildren Ayden and Avery, four sisters; Carol Ashley of Hobart, Sherry Freeman of Mangum, Diana Ashley of Hobart and Sharon Wagner also of Hobart, one brother Raymond Ashley and wife Julie of Hydro and sister-in-law Gayla Ashley of Corn. Jonnie is also survived numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Bobby, brother-in-law Glenn Freeman and several aunts and uncles.
