Rebecca “Becky” Belt, 60, of Elizabeth, W.Va., went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, January 23, 2017, after a brave battle with cancer.
She was born in Wirt County, the daughter of Richard and Madeline (Bell) Weaver
Becky was a 1974 graduate of Wirt County High School. She worked for Appalachian Council Head Start as a teacher for 35 years. She was a member of Pine Twist Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school and played the piano. She enjoyed making cakes and most of all spending time with her family and her grandchildren.
In addition to both her parents, she is survived by her husband of 42 years, Jerry Belt. Daughters, Amy (Todd) Richards of Elizabeth and Jenny (Jason) Haught of Palestine. Four grand children, Peyton and Brandon Richards, Jacob and Josie Maze. Three step grandchildren, Marcina, Landon and Christian Haught. One brother, Jody (Sarah) Weaver of Flemington, W.Va. Several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be 11 a.m., Thurday, January 26, 2017, at Matheny Whited Funeral Home of Elizabeth, W.Va. with the Pastor Dean Ash officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 25, 2017, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Interment will be at Pine Twist Cemetery of Elizabeth, W.Va.
