"Catherine E. Doan, 71, passed away Dec. 3, 2001, joining her husband, Ernie. Born in Akron, Mrs. Doan lived in the area all her life. She was a member of the Lakemore United Methodist Church and Airport V.F.W. 8975. Preceded in death by her husband, Ernie, in 1982, she is survived by sons... daughters... 12 grandchildren, three great- grandchildren; brother, Walter (Carol) Hughes of Akron; sisters, Janet (Hindy) Rowles of Florida, Barb (Ted) Oracion of New Mexico, and Carol Hughes of Akron. Catherine was a special mother and grandmother, and a special friend to many. Funeral service Monday, 11 a.m., at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd.,Akron, with Rev. David L. Atkinson officiating. Burial at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call Sunday, 2 to 5 p.m., at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Airport V.F.W. 8975 or to Lakemore United Methodist Church."
