Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Harold Griffith, 76, Clinton resident will be held 10:00 Tuesday, January 24, 2017 in the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, officiated by Deacon Bill Hough. Burial will conclude in the Stafford Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.
A Rosary will be held 6:00 P. M., Monday, January 23, 2017 in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel.
Harold Luther Griffith was born January 10, 1941 to Frank and Aline (Hill) Griffith in San Antonio, TX and passed away Saturday, January 21, 2017 at the Oklahoma University Medical Center in Oklahoma City.
Harold was raised in Big Springs , Texas and graduated from Coahoma High School. He continued his education at a local college. He was called into the military and served a stint with the U.S. Navy. After his military career he worked for the Federal Government and as a civilian and he spent two years in Vietnam. He returned back to the United States and attended Pilot School in Dallas, TX specializing in Crop Dusting.
He made his home in McAllister before marrying Elvira Borrego (Weichel) on December 7, 1977. They have made their home in Clinton and he has piloted and crop dusted all over Western, OK and Texas. He retired due to failing health in 2015.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Roy Griffith and a step-son, Robert Weichel.
He is a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church; he enjoyed tinkering with aircraft and spending time at the coffee shop with his buddies. He was a member of the Oklahoma Agriculture Aviation Association, National Agricultural Aviation Association and Aircraft Owners Pilot Association.
He is survived by his wife, Elvira, of the home, two step sons, Steve Weichel and wife, Janet, Clinton and Jim Weichel and wife, Kristen, Rockwall, TX; sister, Molly Wyrick and husband, Tommy, Coahoma, TX and brother, Frank Griffith and wife Kathy, Tucson, AZ.
He is also survived by three grandchildren, Victoria Scoville and husband, Caleb, Edmond, OK and Anna Kate Weichel and Griff Weichel, Rockwall, TX
