Emely was born in AL. She met Reuben B. Bryan probably in the mid 1840's. They were married on (24Jan1847) in Lauderdale, AL. The marriage was performed by Samuel Edmondson.
A record from 1855 shows Reuben living in Baldwin, AL., so they must have lived there for awhile. They eventually settled down in the Columbia Co., AR. area.
It looks like he, and Emely had about 7 children that I know of. (Alonzo B. Bryan (1855-????) who married C. Alline Fulmer, and a daughter Willie M. Bryan (1862-????) who married David Gilbert. Latha L. Bryan (1858-????) was last seen in a 1960 Census Record.
His daughter Polly A. Bryan made it to 32 years of age. She married John E. Alton, or Altom.
Only 3 of his children: Martha Elizabeth Bryan Friday, John Dee Bryan, and Rebecca Catherine "Kate" Bryan Lindsey made into their 70's before passing away (that we know of). Times were very hard back then. A lot of folks died young.
Amazingly, it looks like Reuben B. Bryan passed away at the ripe old age of 78 years old.
Emely passed away when she was 51 years old.
I have a feeling Emelys' middle name was "Dee" because she named one of her sons John Dee Bryan, but that is just a guess...
