She was born in Aldine, Indiana, Oct. 13, 1935, to Arthur William and Violet Irene Malott Noggle. She married Richard L. Kasper, March 18, 1967, in Gary, Indiana. In the winter of 1984, she and Dick moved to Rupert, where they became active in the Rupert Senior Citizens Center - Dick being the site manager and Joanna teaching crafts. They made lasting friendships through this association. Dick passed away Sept. 11, 2003.
Joanna was a member of the Rupert First Christian Church. She loved her church family and the great community of Rupert - always thinking of others before herself. Her faith in Christ was always with her; this faith and hope strengthened her, especially after the death of Dick.
After Joanna was no longer able to live at home, she resided at the Warren House, Highland Estates, and, most recently, Parke View Rehabilitation and Care Center. Two wonderful and special friends, Linda Miller and Dixie Walker, became her family. She always expressed her sincere gratitude for the kind and compassionate service they rendered.
In addition to her special friends, Joanna is survived by a nephew, Mark Mynatt; and a niece, Deanna Hakkila. She was preceded in death by her husband; and two sons, Marc Lasher and Jeffrey James Kasper.
She was a wonderful person with a beautiful soul!
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, at Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St. in Burley, where a viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Officiating will be Pastor John Marshall.
Burial will follow at the Riverside Cemetery in Heyburn.
