He was born to Gordon and Myrtle Dodd.
He retired as the assistant manager from Southwestern Electric after 30 years of service. George was civic minded, serving as a member of the Rusk Lions Club, the Cherokee Civic Theater, National Historic Commission and Rusk Chamber of Commerce. He also attended First Baptist Church and served as deacon and a Sunday school teacher for the junior high boys. George served this country in the US Army as a military policeman.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ray Dodd, Byron Dodd, Buddy Dodd; sisters, Peggy Rat, Tacky Mitchum and grandson Zachary Paul Dodd.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Ann Dodd; sons, Brian Dodd (Shannon), Paul Dodd (Brenda), Erie Dodd; daughter Susan Womack (Terry); grandchildren Arin, Alan, Aidan, Jonathan, Lauren, Skyler, Katelyn, Jared, Trey, and great grandchildren, Kase, Kopper, Nathan, Sophia as welll as other numerous family.
