Mrs. Christine Townsend Austin, 82, of Hudson passed away on January 21, 2017 at her home. She was born December 15, 1934, in Watauga County to the late Troy and Ruby Townsend.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Austin, her two sisters, Louis Herman and Zelma Aldridge and a brother, Sperlin Townsend.
Suvivors include three son, Ricky Austin and wife Charie of Lenoir, Larry Austin of Lenoir , Ronnie Austin and wife Loretta of Hudson; three sisters, Becky Holman and husband Jerry of Granite Falls, Carolyn Thorpe of Hudson, Anita Prestwood of Hudson; six grandchildren, Joshua Austin and wife Jennifer, Casey Austin and wife Lisa, Beverly Rash and husband Jeff, Tracey Morrison, Alisha Teague and husband Wesley, Tyler Austin, eight great grandchildren, Madison and Sydney Austin, Justin and Kelsey Pitts, Tori Rash and Dillian, Madison and Zoey Teague.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at 2:00 pm with Reverend Brooks Kirby and Mr. Josh Turner officiating, at Harris Chapel Baptist Church in Hudson.
Serving as pallbearers will by Joshua Austin, Casey Austin, Justin Pitts, Tyler Austin, RL Herman and Wesley Teague.
