Gary Robert Bolton was born on April 23, 1941, to the late Robert Bolton and Jean Bolton Finger and passed away on December 2, 2016, from bone marrow cancer (MDS).

Gary was born in Buffalo, N.Y., he was raised and lived in the surrounding areas, relocating to Ruckersville, Va. in the last few years.

When he wasn't in his shop designing and making jewelry and knives, he could be seen anywhere riding his motorcycle. He was a very friendly man who always had a quick smile, a hearty handshake, or a warm hug for everyone he met.

He is survived by his wife, Lori Bolton Wittmeyer; sons, John Robert Bolton and Eric Joseph Bolton; granddaughters, Juleigh Steppe, Emily Bolton, and Destiny Bolton; great granddaughters, Paisley Hope Knight and Saydee Belle Steppe; and his sisters, Judith Fyvie and family, and Karen Bayette and family.

Many lives will be touched by his legacy of generosity. He was a lifetime blood donor, also donating his body to science so that others may learn. Gary will be remembered as a beautiful caring soul, who loved his family. He is greatly missed by those he left behind. We will always carry his memory in our hearts.
